Never stop learning...
because life never stops teaching.
I am a lifelong learner from a family of educators and have enjoyed 23 years of experience working with students, teachers, parents, and communities as an educator in districts in both the Metroplex area and in East Texas. I am committed to professional growth and believe in a team-based approach to leadership, as I believe that we are never too old, too smart, or too experienced to learn something new and to learn from one another.
I am a proven school leader. I create effective, long-term, practical plans for all areas of professional responsibility, budget appropriately, and ensure that the best interests of the students and staff are kept first and foremost. I always promote the goals of my campus and my district, providing leadership, and pledge to make informed and objective judgments and decisions.
I dedicate myself to promoting and maintaining educational standards in which we as a team can take pride. I offer integrity, attention to detail, and accuracy to all areas of responsibility and consistently evaluate staff and programs and engage in fair and collaborative decision making.
I am well-versed and trained in multiple levels of education and administration. I have 18 years of administrative experience working with all instructional levels: primary/early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, and at the district level. I believe this to be highly beneficial as it has provided me with an in-depth awareness of student learning expectations as they progress vertically, personnel and staffing needs as they apply at the Elementary and Secondary level, and a broader knowledge base of programming needs. I also have had the privilege of working in districts from a small 1A to a large 6A, which has given me a very diverse perspective, level of experience, and understanding of school organization and administration. This depth of experience has also provided me with a very reflective lens when applied to large vs. rural/small schools, at-risk and special populations and personnel needs and expectations.
I have planned and presented campus, district-wide, and regional professional development programs. In two of my districts, I created and led a New Teacher Academy to support beginning teachers. I have also presented at the state level during the TEPSA Summer Conference.
